Meet Pickles — the bear who discovered that red cabbage is, in fact, the most glamorous vegetable in the garden and has dressed accordingly ever since. Wrapped in a richly layered costume of dusty lavender and shimmering magenta satin, with a matching beret tilted just so, Pickles has the kind of effortless style that makes the rest of the Veggie Plot look quietly envious.
The contrast is magnificent: that warm, gloriously shaggy amber fur escaping at every edge against the cool purple of her cabbage leaves — a little wild, a little refined, entirely her own. The embroidered satin leaf detailing catches the light in a way that suggests Pickles is never entirely off duty.
Her removable costume — beautifully crafted with layered leaf panels and a striking star-burst satin centre — slips away to reveal a fully jointed, wonderfully textured little bear with a hand-embroidered nose and the quiet self-assurance of someone who has always known exactly what she brings to the table.
