L'Oiseau Bateau was established in 1994 when founder Catherine Nicol began selling big colourful cushions she had designed and created herself in the markets in the South of France. The name ‘Oiseau Bateau’ came from her little girl Carla - Oiseau (bird) and Bateau (boat) were some of her first words as they lived near the sea. Since then, the brand has continued to grow.
