This is the only mosquito you will ever be genuinely pleased to see. Mosquito Hand Puppet arrives with considerable theatrical presence — a richly textured brown and amber body fringed with gold metallic bristle that catches the light with far more glamour than a mosquito has any right to possess, six sandy velvet legs, two wire antennae, and a pair of iridescent veined wings that manage to make the whole proboscis situation feel almost elegant. Those enormous dark eyes, rimmed in white, hold the expression of a creature who is completely aware of its reputation and has decided to lean into it with absolute commitment.
A three-finger design means the mouth moves — which is, it turns out, exactly what a mosquito puppet needs. The comic possibilities are considerable, and the drama it brings to any storytelling session is entirely disproportionate to its size, which is also, it must be said, very on brand. For the child who finds the most reviled creatures the most interesting, and for the puppeteer who understands that the best characters are always the ones nobody invited.
