There's something about a meerkat's expression — alert, a little startled, endlessly watchful — that's impossible not to love.
Warm sandy-brown plush with rich chocolate patches circling wide, dark eyes and dusting the tips of the ears, a cream muzzle and belly soft enough to sink right into, and paws that stay planted with the steady readiness of a creature always on lookout duty — Mervin has all the charm of a meerkat mid-sentry-shift, minus the desert heat. Round-bodied, soft-pawed, and just alert-looking enough to seem like he's guarding something important.
