Map Making Stamp Kit

Everything a tortoise draws becomes real, and with this Map Making Stamp Kit, so can yours. This set starts with Lord of Maps Draws a Map, a hardcover picture book that's secretly a how-to in disguise. Earl, a wise old tortoise wandering the Land of Nowhere, finds a pen and a piece of paper, and everything he draws comes to life: castles rise, mountains burst from the ground, and a whole world takes shape. Tucked in the back is a "secret recipe" for map making, with step-by-step instructions and practice pages, some with transparent mountains to trace over and build muscle memory. It's written to be read aloud to little ones without talking down to anyone, and the author expects grown-ups to borrow it for their own maps, with permission.

Then comes the fun part. A box of wooden stamps carries the mapmaker's essentials: trees, mountains, hills, a lake, a volcano, and a compass rose. A blank map workbook with more than 30 maps gives them somewhere to land, whether you stamp, draw, or do both. The book is the work of Isaac Dushku, the self-taught "Lord of Maps," whose fantasy map tutorials online inspired it. Map Making Stamp Kit includes:

- Hardcover picture book, Lord of Maps Draws a Map, 54 full-color pages
- Blank Map Workbook with 30+ maps to stamp or draw on
- 16 wooden stamps of mapping elements
- Stamp pad not included

A wonderful gift for the young cartographer, the daydreamer, the fantasy lover, or the grown-up who always wished they could draw a map.
