Meet Lancer — the bear who committed to the parsnip life and somehow made it look wonderfully distinguished. Wrapped from chin to toe in a softly ridged cream costume with a jaunty chartreuse green top, Lancer has the quiet confidence of someone who knows exactly who he is and isn't particularly interested in your opinions about root vegetables.
What makes Lancer truly remarkable is what peeks out from beneath the costume — a gloriously wild, shaggy cream fur that refuses to be fully contained. Arms escaping at the sides, wisps of fleece curling out at every opportunity: the parsnip may be the outfit, but the bear is very much the personality.
His removable costume — beautifully detailed with stitched ridging and a bright green leafy crown — slips away to reveal a fully jointed, wonderfully textured little bear with a hand-embroidered nose and the kind of gentle expression that suggests he has seen quite a lot and remains entirely at peace with all of it.
