Felted White Mouse | Red Spot Dress with Mistletoe

Meet the Felted White Mouse. She is ready for the party and brought the mistletoe, just in case. Dressed in a deep crimson felted frock trimmed with hand-stitched white edging, its full skirt scattered with soft white pompom spots, this white felted mouse wears a red knit cap topped with a little white pompom, round blush-lined ears, and a quiet, knowing smile. In one hand she carries a sprig of felted mistletoe, green leaves dotted with white berries and tied with a dusty pink bow, held out as though the evening is only just getting started.

Handcrafted from felted wool and generous in scale, she has real presence on a holiday mantel, beside the tree, or at the foot of the stairs, and she's every bit as welcome in January as in December. A wonderful gift for the collector, the Christmas loved one, or anyone whose home could use a very well-dressed mouse with very good intentions.

Each item is handmade of 100% wool from New Zealand through the ancient technique of felt making. By adding warm soapy water to wool and then pressing and rubbing, the fibers will tighten into a felted textile material. Gradually, as the fibers are tightening together, the items are shaped into their final form - flower, heart, bird, etc. Once it is dried, it is ready for its final embellishments. 

These products are 100% Fair Trade certified by the World Fair Trade Organization and made by skilled Nepalese women. To become fair trade certified, there are ten principles that must be met:
