A joyful winter friend, Felt Snowman is dressed in his finest Red Knit Hat & Mittens. He has captured the perfect moment of snowy-day delight with his arms flung wide in celebration. This charming handcrafted companion features pristine white felted wool shaped into classic snowman form, adorned with a cheerful carrot nose, button eyes, an actual hand-knit crimson cap topped with a fluffy white pompom, and matching felted mittens embroidered with delicate snowflakes. Whether presiding over a mantel throughout the winter months, joining a collection of seasonal treasures, or bringing year-round cheer to anyone who believes that the happiest decorations are the ones that never seem to melt away, this artisan-made snowman proves that sometimes the most heartwarming companions are the ones who remind us that winter magic is worth celebrating.
Each item is handmade of 100% wool from New Zealand through the ancient technique of felt making. By adding warm soapy water to wool and then pressing and rubbing, the fibers will tighten into a felted textile material. Gradually, as the fibers are tightening together, the items are shaped into their final form - flower, heart, bird, etc. Once it is dried, it is ready for its final embellishments.
These products are 100% Fair Trade certified by the World Fair Trade Organization and made by skilled Nepalese women. To become fair trade certified, there are ten principles that must be met:
