Emma the Grande Lioness

Emma does not roar. She has never needed to. There is a particular authority that belongs to those who carry their strength quietly — who move through the world with the unhurried certainty of someone who has never once doubted their place in it. Emma is precisely that kind of lioness. Warm golden velvet from the tips of her small, expressive ears to the pointed tail she wears so casually behind her, golden claws stitched with easy confidence across those substantial paws — everything about her speaks of a creature who is entirely, magnificently at home in herself.

The Liberty-print neck ruffled collar is the detail that tells you everything else you need to know. Not armour, not performance — simply a considered flourish from a creature who dresses to please herself and has excellent taste. Small flowers in blue and red and cream against pale fabric, edged in that signature yellow, worn with the nonchalance of someone who found it on a Tuesday and decided it was exactly right. Her face, slightly bowed, holds the expression of someone listening to something the rest of us haven't quite heard yet — present, attentive, and serenely unconcerned with whatever is happening in any direction that isn't interesting.

The golden embroidered details catch the light in a way that feels less decorative than inevitable — as though Emma simply generates warmth wherever she is. For the child who already knows their own mind. And for anyone who has ever admired someone who carries theirs so gracefully.

Véronique Lacaze is an interior designer and graduate of the Arts Décoratifs de Paris. She began her career at Printemps where she became the project manager for the animated Christmas windows. She then began to design the Printemps mascots, the famous characters of the Boulevard Haussmann that, at the end of each year, make children and adults dream alike. It was a magical experience for her. Creating characters for children, seeing them come to life in the shop windows... Véronique Lacaze feels like a real Geppetto!
