These handmade wooden matchboxes are made with Ambrosia Maple that have tiny holes and elongated, colorful streaks caused by an inhabitation of the Ambrosia beetle in a North American Maple tree. Once the tree is cut down and the beetle evacuates, the result is lumber with a highly desirable grain. This purchase includes a free refill of matches as well as a complimentary refurbishment service that covers striking service replacements and minor repairs to your matchbox.
Founded by Akeem Pierre Glaze and Stephanie Marie DelVecchio in 2017, Glaze matches and matchboxes are designed and made in Brooklyn, New York. Each piece is carefully completed by hand to ensure the perfect details. The unique style of Glaze is influenced by Palm Beach and the Northeast, two different lifestyles that blend together beautifully through color, material, form, and imagery. Each material used is selected for its innate qualities and bold characteristics, and each product manufactured is made with integrity in collaboration with small, family-owned American lumber yards, woodworkers, and candlemakers.
